Carving Pumpkins!

Happy Fall! We are ready at our house.

Can I just tell you all how much I hate carving pumpkins. I hate getting the squishy, yucky, insides out and I'm not that good at making the pumpkins look the way I had planned in my head.
BUT...the kids have been dying to carve pumpkins! Jane has been so sick the past few days and so cooped up inside I thought it was something I could do to cheer her up and help make her feel better.
(side note...she got strep throat, and me being the awesome mom that I am, took her in on Monday, after she didn't feel good all weekend. She missed all 3 days of school this week, but is finally feeling better for Fall Break. So sorry I didn't take her in sooner :(
We had a fun time and the kids loved it. They were so cute and had some great ideas on how to make their pumpkins scary! Loved it!

Ike was hilarious. He had lots of good ideas and couldn't wait to use the knife. He was even really good at digging out the guts (as we called them).

Poor Jane, sick as a dog, but still smiling. She was super excited about the carving, until she found out that the biggest pumpkins have the most guts and didn't like it at all. She said next year she'll get a smaller one :)

He was more into drawing all over himself with the marker. He really wanted to use the knife and was ready to get messy!

Look at those pumpkins! We had so much fun. Can't wait for next year!!!

Adam made it home in time for a picture! He wasn't able to help with the fun carving of the pumpkins! Maybe next year! :)

What adorable kids. You should bring your family up to Idaho sometime. We actually have an extra bed!
