My TV Shows

Thank heavens for DVR! I love all the new shows. I love reality TV. Here are my favorites! I stay up at night when the kids are in bed and watch them. I don't really know who my favorite are yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Calin's Stats!

I finally got Calin in to the doctor for his 9 month check-up, even though now he is almost 11 months. He is so much fun and getting more fun everyday. He loves to give kisses and is the most lovable little boy. Amy has taken some darling pictures of him, so when I got those from her I'll post them. He is crawling everywhere and standing up. He finally learned to clap and now stands up and claps without holding on. He can walk along the furniture and the walls and is so close to walking. I don't think it will be long. He is a really good to go to bed and nap, but is still waking up in the night, he goes right back to sleep with a binky. I have cut back quite a bit on nursing and the doctor told me to start him on whole milk. He loves it.

Weight: 17.4 (i thought he was such a chunker, but he isn't even on the charts. The doctor said he isn't going to be very big and the whole milk should help.)

Uh-Oh

Last night I was giving the kids a bath. I bathed Calin first because he was covered in bananas from dinner. He loves the tub and gets so excited to get in the water. I got him out and dressed and then put Jane and Ike in. Calin was standing up next to the tub and Adam called. I ran in to get the phone and came back to find Calin had fall in to the tub. This is how I found him. I panicked for a mintue and then we all laughed. I don't know how he fell in or what happened but he fell in and was sitting up. I let him finish the tub with the big kids in his PJ's. In the future I will be more responisble and not let him fall in. But I couldn't resist the picture. It was funny!

Muzzleloader Colorado Deer Hunt 2008

Adam went hunting in Colorado and got a 4 point deer. He was pretty excited about it and has quite the experience. I won't do it justic so if you really want to know as him. He would love to fill you in. Let me just say it was a midnight run, no sleep or food for two days, and a shot in the dark. Way to go Adam! Our true hunter! We love you and we are glad you are home! Also, the deal was that if Adam went to Colorado he had to shave off his beard. I was only kidding, but he really did shave! WOW! I'll have to post pictures of that!

Jane was right there the entire time Adam and Kim were cutting up the deer. She was a big help and loved every mintue of being with her dad.

Dinos and Ducks

Dino Museum
Adam has been hunting, again, this past week and so I spent sometime in Wyoming and then came home to more fun adventures. We went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point with Katie, Chloe, and Sadie and then Grandma O took us all to the duck park by Lone Peak High School. We had fun!

The playground at the duck park. The kids loved this. It was super hot outside, but they didn't seem to mind. It was fun!

Ike loved feeding the ducks and had a lot of fun playing in the mud. He planted his own tree. What a character!

I think half the time Ike was trying to hit the ducks with the bread. He thought it was funny to actually hit the ducks!

We had a little bit of a hard time finding the right feeding area. We think they are really well fed ducks.

Aunt Amy came and bought all the kids their own camera. WOW! Jane was so excited and couldn't believe that it was real and it really worked like mine. Ike was excited for about two seconds and then forgot about it. Jane has had hers clipped on her pants day in and day out and has even had Ike posing for a photo shoot. She can't wait to take it to school for letter "C" day. Thanks Amy, you're the best!

Whose read it?

I just finished the last book of the series. I know, most of you die hard fans have already been there done that, but I did read it and finished it. In all honesty I really wasn't that impressed. I was a little bored through some of it and thought it drug out a little bit. But overall they were alright. Did any of you read it and are you fans?

STUCK!

He was so scared. I felt bad for him, but couldn't resist the photo moment. I couldn't get him out. Adam had to come and finally after a few minutes we figured out how to get him out of there. This is so Ike. Always testing the boundaries and pushing the limits. Needless to say, the banister is now off limits at Grandma and Grandpa O's.

Nasty Spiders!

I hate spiders. I have had to learn to kill them myself, because Adam isn't here most of the time to do it. I had a guy come over to give us a bid on doing some siding for our house, I left him to measure and stuff outside while I ran Jane to preschool. Upon my arrival back home I see the guy standing out in the road with wasp spray. I new I had a few wasp nests, but had just recently sprayed them. I got out of the van to the guy telling me he just saw 3 Hobo spiders in my carport. He had huge boots on, but didn't step on any of them. He tried to spray them with the wasp spray after they vanished. (dumb guy) He then told me that he has been bit before and they are terrible. He said that the bite was deadly to my kids. I wasn't really believing him. I know I had spiders, who doesn't. I then went inside and looked them up on line to see just what I was dealing with. I went back out to the guy and just then a spider came running out by the kids bikes. It was a good sized spider, but he made me think it was like the size of a triancula. I sprayed it down with wasp spray, because I had flip-flops on and he wouldn't step on it. It died and then he smashed it so I couldn't really get a good look at it. That night I told Adam about it, but he didn't seem to care that much, of course men don't care.

The next day I went to Walmart and got myself some home defense. I was outside spraying my house and looked in the window well to find this really weird web and inside was a spider. I sprayed away and it came running out up the wall. Then another come. I had them dying with the spray and ran to get my camera so that I could know if they were the Hobo spiders. I took pictures and had my awesome neighbor/friend, Myken, come and take a look. We were convinced they were Hobo spiders, which aren't deadly, but have a nasty bite. We then found another one and decided I needed the experts. I called a couple of places and one was outrageously priced and the other was a week out. I then found TNT and he came a few hours later. The spiders I found in the window well were, wolf spiders, who bite but it is nothing. He sprayed the inside of my house top and basement and the entire exterior including my shed. He said I will be spider free. He also let me know that he did indeed find one Hobo spider IN MY BASEMENT! YUCK! I then got on the yearly plan to have him spray every two months. I just hate spiders and it is worth it! The service is for spiders, wasps, ants, etc. He also gets rid of racoons, I wish I would have know that a few months ago. Anyway, if anyone else needs a great spider killer call me. I'll hook you up with TNT!

Good-Bye Willie

Willie

We have had Willie for about 3 years and we decided to sell him. We don't really use him anymore and I haven't ridden in years. He was the best horse ever. I loved riding him and he was so lovable and easygoin'. I was sad to sell him, but we just had too many horses at the "Olson Ranch." I had quite the experience in selling him. Adam was out of town or working so he wasn't around to help me. I learned a lot and met some really different people. I sold Willie to a guy up in Jackson, WY who does the Elk refuge and runs a recreation outfitter. He got a steal on the horse. We will miss him!

First Day of School

The Big Day!

Jane had her first day of preschool today. She was excited. She got to bring 3 things about herself today. She picked to bring a skull and cross bone key chain, because she loves pirates, peter pan, and tinkerbell. She brought a thing of bubble tape bubble gum, that's her favorite treat, and she brought a picture of her at The Muddy, she loves to go camping. She didn't give me too much information, but what I got from her is that she learned about circles and she got to sit on an X on the floor. I asked her if she made any friends today and she said, "No, that's tomorrow." She was so cute today. She had to have her hair done a certain way and she picked out her clothes. It was fun. When we picked her up, she was so funny. She wanted to know if the boys missed her and what they did while she was gone and what I did while she was gone. She had fun and is looking forward to tomorrow.

Calin's Getting Too Big

10 Months already?

I missed Calin's 9 month check up and had to reschedule for the end of September, but wanted to update a little bit on him. He has been such a joy in our little family. He is always happy and so easy going. We all love him to pieces, Jane and Ike a little too much at times. Calin has finally started crawling at around 9 months, waves, smiles at the camera on que, has 6 teeth and 2 more on the way now. We are still getting up a few times a night, but hopefully we will break that in the next few months. We love him and we are so glad he's in our family. Love you Cal!

He is pulling himself up on anything and everything. He started crawling and then a few days later pulled up on things. I think he will be walking before we know it.
