Horses!

Over conference weekend we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and ride horses. It was so much fun. We invited Katie and her kids and Amy and Sawyer came too. We just rode around at Grandma and Grandpa O's house and had a lot of fun. The kids did so well riding the horses and we all had a lot of fun.

These two are quite the pair. They both dressed up for the ride. They are so funny.

Jane has gotten so good at riding the horses. She is so confident and was showing us all how it was done.

Adam is always a great teacher and lets the kids really do things. Chloe and Jane had so much fun.

He is just the cutest little cowboy! Lovin' the tie!

Waylon even got a turn!

Ike does so good on Linda. He loves to ride her and does a great job. He is getting so good at it. We love to ride horses and can't wait until summer to do some more.
Thank heavens Katie was there with her camera. That is the only way I got these great pictures!

Zebra Print Party!

Jane got to have a party with some of her friends today. Aunt Katie made her the cutest hot pink zebra print cake. It was a hit! Thanks so much for doing that for her. We loved it!

Some of the decorations. Jane wanted balloons and a candy table. I had some cute glass jars filled with candy. At the end of the party the girls got to fill some zebra print boxes with lots of candy. It was cute. The girls loved it.

We played Just Dance 3 on the Wii!

Opened fun gifts from all her cute fun friends.

Hugs from Chloe.

Her good friend Emma.

The party goers.
Zoe, Ellie, Sylvie's (head), Amy, Emma, Jane, Chloe, Paige, Sara, and Bekah.

The girls made cute bottle cap necklaces, ate pizza, and were very silly!

We had a ball!

Aunt Amy took Jane shopping after the party and she got these awesome shoes from Amy, Zach, and Joey. She was in Heaven!

The next night was her birthday and dad had been out of town for the weekend so we took her to Dickey's with Grandpa and Grandma O and then gave her her gift. She has wanted the American Girl Doll Itty Bitty Twins since Christmas. She finally got them.

Boy was she excited!
Happy Birthday Jane!
Here are the 8 things I love about Jane:
(you know there are a ton more, but I'll just do 8)
1. I love her creativity. She is always crafting something.
2. I love how she loves her brothers. She is always loving on Waylon and teasing Ike and Cal.
3. I love her sweet spirit. She is so excited to be baptized. Just the other night we were having a little bit of a bad night. At bedtime she called me in and said that she felt Satan in her head so she said a prayer and then she felt the holy ghost in her heart. How great is that?!
4. I love how responsible Jane is. She always takes care of her brothers and the animals. She will go out when it is freezing and play catch with the dog.
5. I love that she is a hard worker. She loves to work with her dad.
6. I love that she likes music. She likes to dance and groove, loves to play the piano and violin.
7. I love how smart Jane is. She is doing really well in school and loves Miss Brown.
8. I love that she is a little athlete. Jane loves soccer and basketball and is quite good.
9. I love that Jane has a big heart.
10. I love that Jane is my only little girl. She is the best!

The Lion House Party

My parents have started this tradition in our family that when you turn 8 years old you get a party at the Lion House. Jane was thrilled and we had a lot of fun. We got to invite 12 people. We had Me, Jane, Ike, Cal, Grandpa and Grandma Shelton, Grandma O, Ashlee, Haylee, Natalee, Chloe, and Sadie. We all met at the Lion House and got to do some really fun things.

Me and the birthday girl!
When we first got there they got to write their names on goody bags and put on a bonnet or raccoon hat.

We played hide the thimble and button button who has the button. We ate turkey sandwiches and pulled taffy.

The party animals (minus the boys)

We learned fun stories of Brigham Young. Like he wore a bib like this so he wouldn't get food in his beard. We brought home 3 for Adam. He needs them. Thanks Brigham!

Jane got a birthday cake and ice cream and inside the cake was a gumball. If you got the gumball in your piece of cake you got a year of good luck. Guess who got the gumball?
Grandma O!

She blew out all the candles!

She got to open gifts and got some really special gifts. The DeSpain's gave her this journal with her name engraved on it. Grandpa and Grandma O gave her scriptures and a darling scripture case with her name engraved on it. Ike and Cal gave her a hat and the Rudy girls gave her feather earrings, jeans, and a darling shirt. Grandma and Grandpa Shelton gave her the birthday party!

Grandma O, Me, Grandpa Shelton, Ashlee, Grandma Shelton, Chloe,
Natalee, Jane, Calin, Ike, Haylee, and Sadie

Thank you so much. This is such a fun little tradition.

The Lion House gave her a little tiara to take home and she got to pick either a porcelain doll or a stuffed lion. It was so funny, because the host said, "Jane you get to pick out of these two dolls or a stuffed Lion." Jane said, "Oh this is going to be so hard.... I'll take a Lion." Some Oh My Goodness Jane you don't want the doll. You have to choose a doll don't you? Jane then said, " Okay I'll take that one." It was funny but we are all glad that she picked the doll. That is Jane. She loves stuffed animals!
