Motherhood

On sunday I had to teach Relief Society in my ward. The lesson was on the conference talk given by Elder Ballard titled, Daughters of God. I loved the talk and actually enjoyed preparing the lesson. I am terrified of teaching and have really struggled with the calling, but it sure has been such a blessing for me. I have learned so much and am striving everyday to be a better person. Anyway, the lesson was on Motherhood and the joys of being a mom and what our families can do to help out us mom's. It is so much work and everyday is so demanding and it can get old, but this talk was so inspiring to me and really made me appreciate motherhood and what we do and go through. This is a picture of my sister, Bonnie, my mom, and me. I really look up to these two as role models to me of great mothers. I don't have a picture of my mother-in-law who is also such a wonderful example to me of a great mom. Thanks so much you guys for all your examples, support, advice, and love. I really love you and appreciate you!

Swim Pool Fun

The kids are starting swim lessons next week and I thought I'd venture out to see how they'd do in the pool. Jane took lessons last summer and Ike did the mom & tot class with me last year as well. He cried the entire time. I am hoping this year is better. Jane and Ike both loved just playing in the pool. Ike was a little out of control, he wanted to do it all alone.
Ike's words, "my turn" Cal was super good as usual and just sat in the water with me. I was able just to get a few pictures.

Cal lovin' the water!

Happy Birthday Ike!

Instead of cake I made this delicious rice krispy treat roll and root beer floats. It was so good!

Blow out the candles!

The Rudy's gave him this fun lawn mower that blows bubbles.

Ike loved his bubble mower.

Grandpa and Grandma Shelton gave Ike this really fun Big Wheel! He can reach the pedals!

Mickey Mouse ears! Aunt Katie gave Ike these. He loves Mickey Mouse!

Look who's two!

Ike got some really fun presents. Zach and Amy gave him this really cool gun that really shoots the bottles off the log and some Hulk hands, that he was terrified of. It was hilarious!
Ike enjoying something he didn't get. This is Zoe's (neighbor girl) four-wheeler, but Ike loves it and is not to bad driving it. He is a little dangerous and doesn't quite understand that to stop you just let go of the button. He went right up the flower bed mound and tipped it over. Other then that he does alright. Maybe for Christmas, Ike!

This is what happens when you share a birthday! Ike and Natalee's birthday are just one day apart so we went out to Wyoming to celebrate. We had two parties and a lot of fun, but by the end we had a little too much. We caught Ike in the act of pinching Natalee's cheek. Later on, Ike got smashed and a black eye. So much for 2 year pictures any time soon!
Ike and Natalee showing off the battle wounds!

Let's kiss and make it all better!

We really do love each other!
