The Fort

For awhile now we have wanted to build a playhouse for our kids. We have a sandbox, but thought it would be super fun to build a playhouse over the sandbox. It would provide shade for the sandbox and a nanny for the summer. The kids were so excited. We started it over Memorial Day weekend and finished it within a week. Adam, Grandpa O, and Ike were such hard workers. It was a lot of fun. Ike couldn't wait to work on the fort. He spent a lot of late nights right by dad!

The pictures are a little dark, but here the fort is going up!

The boys at work. Cal was so scared to go up there with out it completely finished. He wanted it to have a roof and walls first. But grandpa and dad of course made him endure it for a bit and tough it out. He was so scared.

Here come the walls and roof.

Ike and Adam stayed up until midnight building the ladder.

Putting on the trim and making it look darling.

Ike was so excited to put on the jolly roger!

The fireman's pole is a huge hit, but also caused us a lot of drama.

Waylon got to try out the pully!

Look at that grin! We love this little guy!

A BIG THANKS to Grandpa O who spent a lot of time building fort! We love you!

Our little family!

The three pirate captains!

The finished product.
(for the worry warts, we are getting a window well cover :)
